Protein Paratha with Vegetables — A Wholesome Meal

This loaded paratha recipe combines the protein boost of Gourmet Staples protein atta with fresh vegetables for a filling, nutrient-dense meal — perfect for breakfast or lunchboxes. Made with Pro Atta 30 (30g protein per 100g), each paratha made with about 40g of flour carries roughly 12g of protein from the atta alone.

Best atta for protein paratha

  • Pro Atta 30 high protein atta — 30g protein per 100g, no whey, no peanuts, no maida. ₹900 for 4.5 kg (5 x 900g), about ₹200 per kg, free delivery.
  • Buy protein atta online — 28g protein per 100g multigrain blend, ₹649 for 900g (packs of 2 and 3 available), ships in 24 to 48 hours.

Ingredients (Makes 5-6 parathas)

  • 2 cups Gourmet Staples Pro Atta 30 or Protein Atta
  • 1 cup grated mixed vegetables (carrot, cauliflower, spinach)
  • 1 green chili, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Water, as needed
  • Ghee or oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: Mix the protein atta, grated vegetables, chili, cumin, turmeric, and salt in a bowl. The vegetables release moisture, so add water slowly and knead into a soft dough. Rest for 15 minutes.
  2. Shape the Parathas: Divide the dough into balls. Roll each into a thick circle (slightly thicker than regular roti).
  3. Cook with Ghee: Heat a tawa on medium heat. Place the paratha and cook until light golden spots appear, then flip. Apply ghee on both sides and cook until golden brown and crisp.
  4. Serve Hot: Pair with curd, pickle, or a simple raita for extra protein.

Why This Works Better

Adding vegetables directly into the dough increases fibre and micronutrient content, while the protein atta base means every bite delivers more protein than a standard vegetable paratha made with regular flour.

Protein Paratha FAQs

How much protein is in a protein atta paratha?

With Pro Atta 30, a paratha made with about 40g of flour has roughly 12g of protein from the atta, before curd or paneer. With regular atta it is about 5g.

Can I make stuffed parathas with protein atta?

Yes. Aloo, paneer and gobhi stuffings work well. Rest the dough for 15 to 20 minutes and roll gently so the paratha does not tear.

Which protein atta pack should I buy?

For a family making parathas and rotis daily, the Pro Atta 30 4.5 kg pack (₹900) is the better value at about ₹200 per kg. To try a multigrain protein blend first, start with one 900g pack of Protein Atta (₹649).
